O jovem jogador azul Gonçalo Brandão, formado nas escolas do Belenenses, foi esta temporada emprestado ao Charlton, da Premier League, da qual é neste momento um dos líderes. O empréstimo desta esperança do futebol azul, que teria nesta temporada o seu espaço de afirmação "tapado" no nosso plantel, configura desde já uma cláusula de opção a exercer pelo clube inglês para adquirir o seu passe.Aquando da assinatura do contrato de empréstimo, o treinador Alan Curbishley referiu que durante este ano espera que Brandão evolua para então optarem pela compra definitiva do seu passe.

Alan Curbishley welcomed his ninth new face to the training ground when Portuguese defender Gonçalo Brandão agreed a one-year loan.
The 18-year-old centre-half is on the books at Belenenses, who finished ninth in the Portuguese First Division last season, but he will spend the 2005/06 campaign in SE7 - and the agreement also includes a clause that the Addicks can make the signing permanent.
The left-footed defender hails from the Portuguese capital Lisbon and he represented his country in the Elite Round of qualifying for the U19 European Championships in April 2005.
Brandão started two of Portugal's games, a 3-2 defeat to eventual competition winners France, and a 2-0 loss to Israel.
The youngster arrived at Sparrows Lane in the early part of the summer and impressed in a series of friendlies playing for a CAFC XI, overseen by reserve coach Glynn Snodin.
He made his first Charlton appearance in a 4-1 win against Borehamwood on July 20th, and also featured in pre-season matches against Luton Town, Aldershot Town, Sutton United and Gravesend & Northfleet.
Brandão is Charlton's fourth loan signing of the season, joining Alexei Smertin, Gonzalo Sorondo and Jonathan Spector.
